Based on a scene at Egton Bridge, North Yorkshire. The track on the left leads to the only road that runs through Egton Bridge, St Hilda's Church is to the left, near the station.
The wrought iron gate caught my eye, the builders yard is in Bubwith, North Yorkshire, the shadows that fell across the brick pile, started the image, the figures were introduced to draw your eye to the landscape behind them. There is a 'footpath' sign on the right which introduced the title, as the two people are obviously in conversation.
