I was told a story of the work outing to Italy to visit an ice cream making factory. One chap was particularly interested in the egg cracking machine that could separate shell from yoke etc and could be speeded up by altering a dial on the side of the machine. he spent the whole day playing with this dial, speeding up the conveyor belt. My interest in old bikes at the time made me invent the mobile machine (in the side car) that Mr Ward (the chap who told me the story). The idea being that he's now a travelling egg-cracker, a ludicrous idea, but I liked to commemorate the story .
